Activities for Wellbeing, Therapy & Fun
Promoting a healthy mind body and spirit is essential in a nursing care home. With daily activities we aim to combat loneliness and maintain cognitive function and mobility.
Professional Delivery and Human Interaction
Delivered between our own staff, external professionals and the local community, our residents enjoy a full programme of events to promote health and wellbeing in every way.

Mental Wellbeing
Bringing residents together helps combat loneliness and fosters human connection, adding to the experience of a full life. Many people make friends over a silly game, a serious match or creating something beautiful…

Physical Health
Keeping the body moving and the mind active can get difficult as you discover the natural limitations of age. With gentle physical activity and engaging games, movement and balance are maintained.

Tailored to Individual Needs
Nobody is excluded from our activities, so we vary the programme of events to ensure that everybody’s needs are met. Even the gents have been known to get their nails painted! We welcome your suggestions for activities.
Activities That Make for a Healthy Mind, Body and Spirit
A safe and encouraging space to pursue favourite activities or be challenged or experience new ones. Whatever else is going on at Ash Lodge Nursing Home, we always find time to celebrate special days too…

Trips and Excursions
It’s lovely to get out and about, and some of our favourite places to visit include the garden centre, local parks and of course, the pub.

Music and Singing
Whether it’s Eurovision on the television, or a visiting musician, everyone gets the opportunity to hear and dance to their favourite songs. Feel free to bring along your own instruments and join in

Quieter Activities
Giant Connect Four in the garden anyone? Or perhaps the challenge of chess… If your loved one prefers the quieter side of life, they can choose to play games, watch their favourite TV show, read, or pursue another hobby.

House of Tranquillity
We’re so proud of the House of Tranquillity! A serene outdoor space that promotes positive changes within our residents. Particularly important during Palliative Care, this space also provides ample opportunity for gardening.

Movement and Mobility
Skittles, bowls, and other ball games, Wii games and fetes all encourage our residents to move their bodies, interact with others and maintain gross and fine motor skills, balance and proprioception.

Art and Craft
There’s always an excuse to make something beautiful! Our residents enjoy decorating the communal areas (and themselves) on special days, baking, painting and sticking. We’ve even carved the occasional pumpkin.
