Gold Standards from Ash Lodge Nursing Home, Reflected in Our Values
Ash Lodge Nursing Home is part of the Care First Group, owned and managed by Michael Verma. Michael’s vision for care of older people is to create a true family atmosphere within a clinically-led, professional setting.
‘Staff are warm and friendly and do everything they can to meet not only the patients’ needs but all their visitors too.’

Our Pledge to You
We are held accountable for our nursing care standards by the Care Quality Commission and The Gold Standards Framework. Our values reflect the work we do to maintain standards of excellence when it comes to the care of your loved one.
Our pledge to you
- You will be treated with dignity and respect and you, and your family will be involved in decisions about your care.
- You will receive high-quality, person -centred care by our highly trained staff.
- You will always have a voice and a say.
- You will be supported to maintain your independence.
- Your safety and comfort will always come first.
- You will be understood as an individual, your likes and dislikes and your life story.
- You will be treated with kindness, compassion, and sensitivity towards your physical and emotional needs.
- You will be cherished and cared for with compassion, dignity and respect throughout your time with us.
Clinical Excellence
We specialise in General Nursing, EMI Nursing and Palliative Care for people over the age of 65. We have a strong focus on the needs of those with complex needs such as physical and sensory impairment, mental health conditions and advanced dementia.
In addition, our Enhanced Assessment beds are available for those that have been discharged from hospital but are not yet fit enough to return home. This is a particularly fraught time as the future can seem uncertain, but we help you regain control through clinical assessment and planning all within a homely setting.
Person-Centred Approach
Your individuality is what makes you special, so that’s why we involve each resident in their own Care Plan as much as possible. A tailored approach to care is proven to be the most successful, not just for nursing needs, but for personality, spirituality and cultural needs too.
This approach prioritises dignity, respect and the importance of choice on what matters most to your loved one, you and your family.
